My daughter gave me another nativity set to add to my collection; she said she couldn’t wait until Christmas. That got me thinking as I dusted my collection making room for this beautiful set. I have the Willow Tree Set, the Party Lite set, both of them eloquent and beautiful. They are surrounded by a Moose nativity scene, and another one from India fills my china cabinet. My Bear nativity will make its home beside my Santa Fe set. I couldn’t help from smiling as I dusted the Bear Baby Jesus and the Moose Baby; they are so adorable. It pulled me to a Bible verse in Romans 15:7 “Accept one another, then just as Christ accepted you in order to bring praise to God.” Sometimes that is a hard verse to live, accepting others especially when they can be such a “bear.” I often wonder how God can love me at times when I have been such a “Bullwinkle” However, my mind quickly went to John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
As I finish dusting all the nativity scenes from around the world I can only believe this is what God wants from us, the unity of following the Jesus baby, and I am glad my daughter didn’t wait till Christmas to share the gift of Jesus; He should be shared every day everywhere in the world.
