The Cord That Never Breaks – Bobbie Bomar Brown

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way, and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalm 46 1-3

Roads destroyed, homes lost, destruction everywhere. The devastation is heartbreaking.

Three days after the raging flood roared through our Estes Park community, high winds and rain once again ripped through the pine trees and fear gripped my heart. From the safety of my home I watched a small flock of birds struggle to navigate their way through the turbulent wind. It is only by Gods’ design they succeeded. He crafted the correct wing span for each bird. God’s creatures reminded me it is by His design we will be strengthened. Rivers can change their course and deliver destruction; but the cord between us and God can never be broken.

Your struggles may be different than mine but we must hold on to the One who crafted us. God created each one of us for fellowship with Him. He will calm the storm and give peace during this present time of change. His love is unchanging. God has promised He is our refuge – a promise still unbroken.

Our God never changes course. God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Reach out and grab the cord that never breaks. It is His strength that will carry you through the winds of change.
